Each month the Chinese customs figures are awaited with interest as they determine the pressure exerted by this country on the rest of the world and France in particular.

In September traditionally the volumes drop a little because of the summer weather which degrades the transported goods.

But in 2021 this trend is being undermined.

In oak, shipments from France to China in September 2021 were 28,904 m3 compared to 13,355 m3 in 2020 and 18,058m3 in 2019. In the month of September 2021 alone, the increase is therefore + 60% compared to 2019 and + 116% compared to 2020  !! Cumulated at the end of September, the increase is + 34% compared to 2020 and + 18% compared to 2019.

In softwood, shipments from France to China in September 2021 were 113,554 m3 against 78,299 m3 in 2020 and 51,618 m3 in 2019.  In the month of September 2021 alone, the increase was + 120% compared to 2019 and + 45% compared to 2020  !! Cumulative at the end of September, the increase is + 49% compared to 2020 and + 195% compared to 2019.

For these 2 species alone, the accumulation at the end of September 2021 exceeds 1 million m3.

Objectivity makes it difficult in these conditions to detect a lull or an appeasement of the situation.
