Meet Fordaq at Elmia Wood 2005
16/05/2005 - 15:55
Fordaq will present its services in June at the largest in-woods logging and forestry technology fair in the world - Elmia Wood 2005. Our team invites you in Hall 41 to see a full demo at Fordaq’s stand.

Elmia Wood is set for June 1-4, 2005 in a 371-acre forested site near Jönköping in southern Sweden. More exhibitors than ever will come from countries outside the Nordic region. The storm which hit Sweden in January and felled 75 million cubic meters of timber makes Sweden an interesting market for many products and services. During the fair 3,000 m3 of timber will be felled, or the equivalent of 100 fully loaded logging trucks with trailers.

The Swedish market for new and used forest machines is currently boiling. Manufacturers are trying to redirect deliveries from other markets over to Sweden, and contractors from the Baltic Rim countries are moving machines to Sweden to help deal with the storm consequences. Still, Elmia officials predict that, after the summer, the sales will shift to other countries around the Baltic.

Exhibitors are secretive about what new products and features will be presented at the fair. Still, it can be guessed that Elmia will be the place chosen to present increased automation, multi-stem handling and operatorless machines, as well as small-scale equipment, like mobile sawmills, methods and equipment for planning, soil scarification and planting.

Although Elmia Wood is one of the biggest shows for the wood industry, it is not the only one where Fordaq will be present.
